William Dunn, the youngest of five children, departed his life on May 31, 2015 at Greenhaven Health & Rehab Center in Greensboro, NC. He was born to the late William and Nancy Lee Dunn on May 29, 1916 in Johnston County.

William married Lois Whitley Dunn on November 10, 1945. To this union were born two children, daughter, Joyce Dunn and son, George Dunn.

William Dunn, Jr. is from Clayton, NC where he grew up on a country farm. He loved working on the farm and growing crops.

William was a faithful member of Spring Hill Baptist Church in Zebulon, NC until he relocated to Greensboro to work with the North Carolina Federation for the Blind. Once he moved back to Greensboro, he joined Reid Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal Church where he was an active member until his health began to decline.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Lois Dunn; daughter, Joyce Dunn Gaines of Williamsburg, VA; son, George Dunn (Miriam) of Oviedo, FL; sister-in-law, Janie Washington Taylor of Richmond, VA; several grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A homgegoing celebration will be held on Friday, June 5 at 12:30 pm at Reid Memorial CME Church, 1010 Bennett Street, Greensboro. There will be a viewing held at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens, 5710 Riverdale Drive, Jamestown, NC 27282
