William Henry Garland, Jr., 86, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016. Known to many as "WH" or " Buck," William was a people person and met no strangers just like his Daddy. He was born July 23, 1929 to Henry & Loraine Garland. There was never a greater love shown than what he had for his beloved sister, Annie Sue.
Buck graduated from Dudley High School. He also attended North Carolina A&T State University, Howard University, and Xavier College. He studied Pharmaceutical Medicine, Biology, and Chemistry.
He had a fulfilling life - traveling many places in the country for work, school, and the military. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953. He also was an avid fan of the New York Theaters where he worked backstage on summer breaks and got to meet many celebrities. His favorite two were Leon Horone & Sammie Davis, Jr. He had a green thumb like no other and last of all, he loved animals and pets!
