Our beloved Vernal "Bonnie" Jones was born in Halifax County, North Carolina on May 31, 1940, to the late Jesse and Gertrude Knight Jones.  Bonnie went to be with the Lord on December 6, 2021.  Vernal is preceded in death by her son, Lonnie Davis, daughter, Gwendolyn Davis, brother William Jones, sister Gertrude "Jackie" Brown and sister, Catherine Jones.

Bonnie grew up in Scotland Neck, North Carolina and graduated from Brawley High School in 1957.  After graduation, Bonnie moved to Richmond VA where she married Paul Davis Sr. From that union were born five children: Kelvin, Boris, Gwendolyn, Paul, and Lonnie Davis. Vernal worked as a Nursing Assistant for 30 years until her retirement from St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond VA.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sons: Kelvin Davis (Jean), Boris Davis, and Paul Davis Jr.; four grandchildren Shanetta Davis, Richard V. Davis, Andre' C. Davis and Craig S. Davis; two sisters, Mary Brown and Jessie Alston; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. One devoted friend, Candace Bracken.

Public viewing of Ms. Jones is 12 noon to 5:00 pm Monday December 13th.  Visitation with the family and funeral is 1:30-2:00 pm Tuesday, December 14, 2021, in The Laburnum Chapel of March Funeral Home 2110 E. Laburnum Ave. Richmond, VA followed by interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Richmond, VA.
