Obituary

Ucola M. Whitworth, affectionately known by many names: Cola, Coco, Cole Slaw, Slaw Deal, and Cut Butty, was a one-of-a-kind person who could never be mistaken for anyone else. If you knew Cola, you knew him when you saw that walk. His unique way of carrying himself was just one of the many things that made him unforgettable.

Cola was the beloved son of Willie J. Whitworth and Lois Whitworth. He was a fun and loving person who was always smiling, enjoying life, and trying to make sure everyone around him was having a good time. His presence could brighten a room, and his personality left an impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He had a true love for sports. He enjoyed baseball, basketball, and football, but if there was one thing he loved most, it was fishing. Boy, could he fish! Fishing was more than just something he enjoyed; it was something he truly loved. He also had a passion for fast cars and music, and you could always count on Cola to have his own style. And one thing was certain, he had to have his Nike shoes! His style, his walk, his smile, and his personality all came together to make him the person everyone knew and loved.

Though his life was taken far too soon, the memories he created will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. His laughter, his smile, his love of fishing, his sense of fun, and, of course, that unforgettable walk will never be forgotten.

Ucola was preceded in death by his parents, Willie J. Whitworth and Lois Whitworth.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his sisters, Shuntina D. Whitworth and Philana M. Walker, both of Greensboro, NC; half-sister, Sytrina; brother, Daren T. Whitworth; half-brothers, Phillip Whitworth and Victor Whitworth; along with a host of beloved nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

A homegoing celebration will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2026 in the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel, 905 E. Market Street, Greensboro; visitation with the family begins at 1:30 pm followed by the service at 2:00 pm.
