Obituary

Elder Stonewall Blocker went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 30, 2010. He was born January 19, 1958 in New York, New York to the late Stonewall and Rhoda Blocker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Amy Blocker.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 12 Noon at Resurrection Fellowship United Holy Church. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park.

Stonewall entered college at age 16 and received a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Business Management from NC State University, and a Paralegal Diploma from New York University. He was formerly employed as a compliance officer on Wall Street, and recently as a Medicare Compliance Consultant with Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina.

He was devoted to the work of his Christian calling as a Minister, which began at Mt. Hebron Church in New York. Stonewall and his wife relocated to Winston Salem and became members of Resurrection Fellowship United Holy Church in Greensboro.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine; daughters, Stephanie (Vaughn) Taylor and Jennifer Scott of Philadelphia, PA; uncle, Adolphus Blocker of New York, NY; aunts, Cora Lee Jenkins and Mary Lee Jackson of Columbia, SC; close cousins, Helen (Hank) Harris of Inglewood, CA, Denise (Norman) Mitchell of Charlotte, and Sylvia Jenkins of Columbia, SC; special childhood friends called The Brothers; and a host of family, church family and friends.
