Sarah Elizabeth Davis Howell, affectionally known by some as "Libby", was born to the late Clarence Allen and the late Mary Leona Davis in Greensboro, North Carolina on January 14, 1944. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorse Booker T. Howell, Sr., two brothers: William S. Davis and Wayne King, and one granddaughter, Brittanye Hale.

Sarah was born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina. She was a member of St. James Baptist Church for over fifty years, where she formerly
served on the Senior Usher Board.

Sarah and her beloved husband were the co-owners of Superior Cleaning Company. She also sold Rawleigh products for many years. However, Sarah's main occupation was that of being an excellent homemaker. Sarah had a heart for caring and doing for others. She could always be depended on for a caring and listening ear. She was giving, smart, witty, funny and loving.

Sarah leaves to cherish her precious memories: daughters - Levette Hopkins(Donald) of Raleigh, N.C. and Dorrie Peele (Milton) of Greensboro, N.C.; sons -Darren McGill (Karen) of Greensboro, N.C.; Dorse Howell, Jr. of Greensboro, N.C., and Mark Howell of Raleigh, N.C.; granddaughters - Niani Howell of Greensboro, N.C., Jazmyne Brown (Devin) of Killeen, T.X., Phylicia Graves of Greensboro, N.C.,Tamera Graves of Charlotte, N.C., Nevaeh Johnson of Oswego, N.Y. and Salianna Traylor of Hickory, N.C.; grandson – Aaron Hopkins of Raleigh, N.C.; great granddaughters – Laiyah Brown of Killeen, T.X. and Lyra Brown of Killeen, T.X.; a close cousin that she considered to be her sister: Brenda F. McBride (Larry) of
Greensboro, N.C.; her adored dog, Poochie; very special nieces and nephews; and a host of wonderful family and friends.

The public viewing of Mrs. Howell will be from 12 noon - 5 pm Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Hargett Funeral Service, 905 East Market
