GREENSBORO - Mrs. Ruthie T. Irvin, 96, died December 8, 2011 at Brighton Gardens in Greensboro, NC. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Nannie Chavis Troxler.

She grew up in the Mt. Zion community. Ruthie joined Laughlin Memorial UMC at an early age and was a faithful member until her illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl L. Irvin.

Survivors include her daughter, Florine I. Stafford (Osburne C.); grandchildren: Stacia M. and Sonya S. Stafford; Stephanie S. Bass (Alvin); and Armand C. Stafford (Christine); great-grandchildren, Kendal and Kaziah Bass; sister, Rubye T. Davis; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 12 p.m., Tuesday, December 13 at Laughlin Memorial UMC, 1417 Huffine Mill Rd. Greensboro, NC. Visitation is 11:30 am.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
