Robert Homer Friday was born on November 11, 1940 in Lincolnton , North Carolina to the late Robert Luther Friday and  Maggie Morrison Friday.

"Friday" was employed and retired from Harris Teeter Distribution Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Bob Friday and sisters, Catherine Cheek, Thelma Lindsay and Ella Mae Kee.

He leaves to mourn, wife of 47 years, Myrtle McNeill Friday; three daughters, Rena F. Tillman (James) of Ashland, Virginia, Shannon M. Flowers (Vernel) of Greensboro, North Carolina and Tiffney F. Thompson (Raynard) of Randleman, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Trey Flowers (Lastasia),  Torien Flowers and Trinity Flowers all of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Nzuri Thompson and Nadira Thompson of Randleman, North Carolina; one great grandchild, Nomi Flowers of Greensboro, North Carolina; sisters, Vertie Friday and Mary Friday of Lincolnton, North Carolina; one brother, James Friday of Lincolnton, North Carolina; and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021 at the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel, 905 E. Market Street, Greensboro from 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm.

A homegoing celebration will be held at the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel on Saturday, July 31, 2021.  Visitation with the family begins at 9:30 am followed by the service at 10:00 am.  Interment will follow at Westminister Garden.
