GREENSBORO - Reverend Sarah Elizabeth Graham peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at the age of 74, following a valiant battle with multiple myeloma.

A native of Rose Hill, North Carolina, Sarah attended the School of Nursing at North Carolina A&T State University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree and, ultimately, a Master's Degree in Counseling.

As a young nurse at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in the late 1960's and early 1970's, Sarah quickly climbed the ranks to become the hospital's youngest African-American head nurse and was well-known and highly regarded in the field of nursing. She served in nursing administration for much of her professional career.   In 1996, Sarah, alongside her husband, Donald Graham, founded The Christian Counseling & Wellness Group, Inc., a non-profit counseling and The Prince of Peace Haven, a 30-bed inpatient recovery program for men struggling with addiction.

Sarah was steadfast in her Christian faith and dedicated herself to serving others. She was selfless and lived to please God. In 2010, she answered God's call to the ministry and was ordained as a minister of Genesis Baptist Church, under the direction of Dr. Gregory T. Headen.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years and childhood sweetheart, Donald, daughter, Mary (Keith), brother, Alfred, grandsons, Keith and Donald, and nephew, Anthony (Evelyn).

A funeral service in memory of Sarah will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 11:30 AM, with family visitation 30 minutes prior at 11:00 AM at Genesis Baptist Church, 2812 E. Bessemer Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
