IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Regina
Spence
September 3, 1961 – November 12, 2021
Regina Adele Spence was born on September 3, 1961 to the union of the late Reginald Spence and the late Sylvia Biggs-Winstead Spence Mincy. She departed from this earthly life on November 12, 2021 at her home.
Regina received her formal education in the Philadelphia School System attending Grover Cleveland Elementary School and then later graduating from Germantown High School (Class of 1979). She excelled by achieving the Honor Roll K – 12 th grade. Regina was an avid reader which undoubtedly stemmed from her educational experiences and her desire to learn and explore the unknown. Shopping, traveling, and spending time with loved ones were her favorite things to do.
After high school, Regina enlisted in and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 4 years. From her Corps mate Ron Ware: "Spence, as we called her, was good people…we enjoyed several laughs together and shared many mutual friends. She was quick to flash a smile, but as I remember, she wasn't one to play with. One thing that stood out about Spence is that even before you spoke with her, you saw that she was squared away and her uniform was always ready for inspection. You could tell she took pride in keeping it that way".
Regina was a devoted colleague and friend at VF Corporation/VF Jeanswear for 35 years beginning in Havelock, NC and later transferring to the Greensboro, NC office. She accepted Christ and was a member of Life Community Church, Jamestown, NC.
From her "immediate" Family
Family was extremely important to her. When her mother passed in 2005, she became more of an integral part of her mother's sister's family. Regina, or "Genie" as she was affectionately called, was not just a niece and cousin, but another daughter and sister. Our hearts are heavy…but we find comfort in knowing that she rests in God's loving arms and eternally with her mother, whom she loved deeply. We will always remember her infectious smile, caring spirit and love. We will miss your earthly presence Genie! Aunt Carlinda, Uncle Foster, cousins Sonya (Marcus), Muira & Jaden, Quique (Allen), and Terence.
A homegoing celebration will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in Life Community Church, 4900 W. Wendover Avenue, Greensboro. Visitation with the family begins at 3:30 pm followed by the service at 4:00 pm. Interment will follow in Andrews Memorial Park, Williamston, NC.
