GREENSBORO — Mrs. Queen H. Bell, a retired Educator, departed this life October 11, 2010 at Moses Cone Hospital.
She was born to the late Calvin Alexander Hester and Mamie Hester of Roxboro, NC. She attended the public schools of Person County. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Bennett College and her Master of Science degree from Columbia University. She did further graduate study at Howard University, Pennsylvania State University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was awarded the Doctoral Degree from Bennett College. Professor Bell taught 10 years at Barber Scotia College and 25 years at Bennett College until her retirement.
She received numerous awards for her distinguished service and contributions to Education and the Community.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Arthur P. Bell, daughter Benita P. Bell, sons Calvin A. Bell(Karen) and Bernard E. Bell, and grandson Winston A. Bell.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church, 1106 Tuscaloosa St. Greensboro, NC. Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. prior to service.
