Friday, October 2, 2020, Phyllis entered into eternal rest at her family home in Greensboro, NC.

Phyllis was born May 19, 1957 in Harnett County, NC to the late Clark Mitchell McDougald & Ethel Lean Johnson McDougald.

She grew up in Greensboro, NC.  She was a proud graduate of James Benson Dudley Senior High School, Class of 1975 and a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, Class of 1979 with a bachelor's of science in Sociology.  She also was a distinct sorority member of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc.

Phyllis was and is the "Life of the Party."  She touched many lives throughout her life.  Through her tenure with Harris Mintz School of Dance and St. James Baptist Church Praise Team, you knew dance was her life.   She played so many roles throughout the Greensboro community,

She was married to James Perry, Jr. in 1992 in Greensboro, NC and to this union daughter, Maya was born.

In addition to her to parents, she is preceded in death by sister, Barbara Dianne McDougald; and nephew, Miguel McDougald.

She leaves to cherish her many memories husband, James Perry, Jr.; daughter, Maya; sisters, Catherine M. Waterman and Patricia McDougald; brother, Michael McDougald all of Greensboro; niece, Dominique McDougald; aunt, Joyce Johnson Toy; uncle, Clarence Johnson; and an endless amounts of family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 9, 2020 at St. James Baptist Church, 536 W. Florida Street, Greensboro.  Visitation with the family begins at 11:30 am followed by the service at 12:00 pm.
