Pearl Julia Mebane Moore, 97, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, September 8, 2018. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, 3100 Creek Ridge Road, Greensboro, NC. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM and the funeral service will begin at 3:00 PM. Hargett Funeral Service is assisting the family.

Pearl Moore was born on February 28, 1921 in Greensboro, NC to the late Richard and Anna (Brooks) Mebane.  She attended James B. Dudley High School graduating in 1938 and Bennett College graduating in 1942 with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education.

She was employed with Guilford County Public Schools and worked at Rena Bullock School and Southeast Jr. High School in Guilford County, NC. until her retirement.  She was also an active and life-long member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Elzie Moore Sr. and her siblings. Her legacy lives on in her six children: Elzie Jr. of the home, LaVerne Reid (Donnie) of Martinsville, VA, Wayne Earl of Martinsville, VA, Lynn Sylvester (Katrina) of Marlborough, MA, Alfred Bernard of Greensboro, NC, and Bruce Henry (Tonya) of High Point, NC, loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
