Bryant, Sr.
June 17, 1942 – May 28, 2018
Patterson Leroy Bryant, Sr., 75, departed this life for his heaven bound home on May 28, 2018 at the Novant Health Center in Thomasville, NC. He was born on June 17, 1942 in Greensboro, NC to the late William McKinley Bryant and Mabel Faucette Bryant.
Patterson attended the local church in the Greensboro community and the home church of his mother in Efland, NC. He loved the Lord, his family, and his church. He joined Wadsworth Congregational Church and was baptized in 2001.
He attended Rena Bullock Elementary School and graduated from Dudley High School in 1962. Also, Patterson attended A&T State University for a short while and GTCC for four years, where he was awarded a Certificate of Completion of Apprentice in the trade of Carpentry in 1969. On January 20, 1968, he was united in matrimony to Jean Lindsay and to this union two sons were born.
Patterson worked as a Carpenter for several construction companies and retired with over thirty years of service from NC Monroe Construction Company in Greensboro, NC.
After retirement he continued to stay busy by helping others. His hobbies included gardening, landscaping, fishing, watching Westerns on TV, sports and building things.
He was a people person and had a great sense of humor. He was friendly and kind and never met a stranger. His mother Mabel said her son Patterson loved everybody.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Walter Coleman Bryant.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of fifty years, Jean Lindsay; sons, Kenneth R. Bryant and Patterson Bryant, Jr. (Tanya); sisters, Peggie B. McLean and Bobbie B. White; aunt, Betty Faucette Bigham; grandsons, Paxton and Cholsen Bryant; nieces, nephews, five sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law; and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.
A homegoing celebration will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Wadsworth Congregational Church, 1301 Rock Creek Dairy Road, Whitsett. Visitation with the family begins at 1:00 pm followed by the service at 1:30 pm. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.Funeral Service
