Sister Patricia D. Purcell's journey in this world began March 17, 1947, and ended May 12, 2025, at the age of 78.  Born fifth out of eight children, she was a beacon of light full of energy.  Her parents, the late Martin J. Doggett and Missionary Roberta Doggett recognized she was special at an early age.

Educated in the Guilford County school system, she graduated from Brown Summit High School. Sister Patricia loved life. Her dedication of employment for over 30 years with Aetna Insurance company proved to be an avenue to cultivate her work ethics and transcend her servanthood skills as a caregiver and prayer warrior.

In addition to her parents, Sister Patricia Purcell is preceded in death by sisters: Dalia Mae Walker, Florence Milton, Dorothy Doggett, Sandra Kay Doggett, brother: Curtis Levon Doggett and grandson, Darren McNairy.

She leaves to cherish her memories and legacy to her daughter: Jada Doggett; son, Samuel (Tony) Purcell, both of Greensboro, NC; brothers: Thomas Doggett and Martin (Betty) Doggett; grandchildren: Dantae Doggett, Darrius McNairy, Tomika Purcell, Angelica Purcell; special nieces: Cassandra (Prissy) Walker, Tammy Walker, Frederica (Rhodie) Walker; nephews: Rio Doggett, Deon Doggett; prayer partner: Patricia Thomas; great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

There will be a family visitation at the home on Friday 5/16 Hours 5-7 and Sunday 5/18 Hours 2-7 pm.

A homegoing celebration will be Monday, May 19 at St. Paul Apostle Church, 4800 Holders Road, Greensboro; visitation with the family begins at 12:30 pm followed by the service at 1:00 pm.  Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park.
