Patricia E. Oglesby, born March 31, 1946 in Greensboro NC to the late Allen Evans, Sr. and Josephine Evans. Patricia went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 25, 2024 at her residence.
Patricia attended James B. Dudley High School in Greensboro, NC. She was employed and retired from Dow Corning. She was also employed by Guilford Health Care Center. Patricia was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church. She loved helping her family and friends. Everyone called her "Red" or "Trish-Ann".
She had a passion and a gift for caring and loving for others. Patricia never met a stranger. She enjoyed watching football and was a diehard Washington Redskins fan. She was known for her famous potato salad and cornbread. Patricia will be remembered for her funny jokes, laughter and smile.
We cannot overlook Patricia's love for her dog, Melissa. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Josephine Evans, daughter, Patty Oglesby; brother, Jimmie Evan; sister, Mickey Evans; and great grandson, Jamari Johnson.
Patricia leaves to cherish her memories; her husband, Robert Oglesby Sr., one son, Robert Oglesby Jr.; three daughters, Karen (Nisie) Oglesby, Joann Oglesby, and Michelle Johnson (Victor Sr.); like a son, Ricky Evans (Stephanie); two brothers, Allen (Poppa) Evans III and Edward (Friday) Evans; two sisters, Alliese Evans and Phyllis Evans; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great great grand and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
A public viewing will be held on Thursday, October 3 in the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel, 905 E. Market Street, Greensboro from 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm.
A homegoing celebration will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024 in the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel; visitation with the family begins at 11:00 am followed by the service at 11:30 am. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park.
