Born and raised in historic Saclepea-Mahn Chiefdom of Nimba County (north-central Liberia), in the REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA (West Africa). Nya Sua Flomo completed his primary, elementary and secondary education in Nimba County before pursuing basic studies in Nursing at the Tubman National Institute of Medical Arts (TNIMA) in the Liberian capital, Monrovia, where he received a Diploma in Nursing.
Arriving in the UNITED STATES about 30 years ago, he intensely followed a healthcare career path while obtaining his undergraduate, graduate and professional education at, and credentials from, a number of reputable American academic institutions, including the following: B.S./Nursing/RN (1985), University of North Carolina (UNC), Greensboro, BA/Public Health (1988), UNC/Greensboro, B.S./Medical Technology (1992), UNC/Greensboro, M.S./Health Services Administration (1999), Central Michigan University, Mt. Pleasant, MI
PhD/Clinical Psychology (2009), Capella University, Minneapolis, MN -- Disseration Title: ACQUIRED IMMUNE DEFICIENCY SYNDROME AND IMMIGRANTS: A Look at HIV/AIDS knowledge and risk behaviors among African immigrants in Guilford County, and MD (Doctor of Medicine) Candidate (2014), University of Health Sciences/ANTIGUA School of Medicine, Caribbean Islands. He suffered a massive heart attack and stroke only days before formal graduation.
In 22 years of his public health career with the Guildford County Department of Public Health, in addition to years of university teaching and community-based human services in Greensboro, Dr. Nya Sua Flomo received numerous awards from local, state, federal and international agencies for distinctive and selfless services to humanity.
Considering his life in a nutshell, it could be said that Dr. Nya Sua Flomo lived out his personal, professional and public life with the following lifestyle philosophy and ethos held in view:

Friday, July 8, 2016, there will be a wake at the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel, 905 E. Market Street, Greensboro from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. His homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Genesis Baptist Church, 2812 East Bessemer Avenue, Greensboro at 9:00 am. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
