Michael Lorenzo Mitchell was born March 4, 1970 in Prince George County, Maryland to Jesse and Frances Mitchell. He departed this life on May 17, 2019 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.

After graduating from high school, Michael moved to Greensboro and attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. He was employed by UPS for 28+ years.  He enjoyed watching his son play football and loved the Dallas Cowboys and the North Carolina Tar Heels.

In 2002, Michael married Frances Herbin.

Michael leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Frances Michelle; two daughters, Trachelle and Marissa; one son, Michael; one grandson Jahlil; father, Jesse Mitchell; sisters, Yvonne and Jacqueline; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Michael will be missed by all that knew him.

A homegoing celebration will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel, 905 E. Market Street, Greensboro.  Visitation with the family begins at 10:30 am followed by the service at 11:00 am.
