Obituary
Melvin Troxler, Sr. was born June 21, 1956 in Reidsville, NC. He was the tenth child of the late elder George W. and Cora Harris Troxler.
Melvin was educated in the Guilford County Public School System. He also furthered his education where he took up different trades. He worked for Cone Mills for 34 years until his health began to decline.
He was a very happy person. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, and most of all his music.
In addition to his parents, Melvin is predeceased by one son, Melvin Troxler, Jr.; three brothers, James, George, and Alfonza Troxler; three sisters, Maria and Nancy Troxler and Lillie Brown.
Left to cherish his memories are his beloved and devoted wife of 26 years, Shelia Floyd Troxler; son, Ryan Montgomery (Terrica); stepson, Mark Anthony Gilbert of Greensboro, NC; daughter, Melanie Patrice Troxler of San Clemente, CA; sisters, Geraldine Neal and Beverly Dixon of Greensboro, NC; brothers, Robert Troxler of Reidsville, NC and Thomas Troxler (Iris) of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Ryan, Jr., Terrya, Kashayia, Markquan, and Jahques; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A homegoing celebration will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at a Grace Lutheran Church, 1315 Washington Street, Greensboro. Visitation with the family begins at 11:30 am followed by the service at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Piedmont Memorial Park.
