Obituary

Maurice "Moe" Terrelle Tripp, 55, of Walkertown, NC passed away on March 31, 2024.  Moe was born in Washington, NC, where he continued to live until he joined the Navy in 1987. He proudly served more than 8 years and was honorably discharged in 1995. During this time, he became the proud father to his daughters: Krystal, Kerri, Kayla, and Keona. Upon his discharge, Moe moved to Greensboro, where he became involved in the local bowling scene and began making his mark on this special community as a boisterous and energetic competitor. In 2002, Moe welcomed his son, Charles. In 2006, he married the love of his life, Bridgette. In addition, Moe was honored to accept the role as "Dad" to Bridgette's two children, Erica and Jon "Tyler".

During the last 19 plus years, Moe and Bridgette worked to build a strong and loving foundation. A large entity of the foundation was blending the seven children and ensuring they all felt that love and support.

He was a dedicated member of Spirit and Truth Worship Center of the Triad located in High Point, NC. In the midst of his health struggles, he was an avid believer in God's ability to do His will; and relied heavily on his faith to help get him through the tough days. He was not ashamed to share the love of God with others, regardless of the circumstances.

Moe loved his children, and his extended family dearly.  He cherished, appreciated and protected Bridgette and devoted his time to be the best husband possible. He demonstrated his love in small acts, big gestures and his words. He made sure everyone knew that he loved his wife and was willing to do anything to ensure her peace, safety, and happiness. He was her rock, most avid supporter, cheerleader, travel partner and best friend.

Moe was excited about working with kids of all ages. For years, he enjoyed coaching softball, Saturday youth bowling leagues and informal mentorship. He loved watching and/or attending games for his Tarheels, Cowboys, Yankees, and Lakers and Nascar events. He was an avid bowler, but also enjoyed playing softball, golfing, playing cards, and traveling to multiple destinations with Bridgette.

Those who had the pleasure of meeting Moe, found he genuinely cared for people, and focused on developing genuine relationships. He lit up the alley with his boisterous voice, infectious smile, and positive energy. Moe was always available to help his friends and family. If he was not able to do it himself, he knew someone who could. May his light and energy continue to resonate with all of us.

Moe was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; daughter, Krystal Renee Tripp; nephew, Christopher Terrell Tripp; uncle, Marvin "Bro" Peed; aunt Barbara "Bop" Ross; Brother, Eric Keech; Dear Friends, Darrick "Cheeks" Whitfield, Jeffrey Hill and C. Terry "TB" Bynum; sister-in-laws Carrie Renee Tripp and Christina Crowley.

He is survived by his wife, Bridgette, his children, Kerri, Kayla, Keona, Charles, Erica and Tyler (Sam) - and grandchildren - Khalil, K'Ryah, Khayon, Kaaliyah, Kay'Den, Keontay, Kymir, Kaison, Audrey, Dominic, Reign, Remy and Khloe. Each of them holds a special place in his heart and will continue to beat within theirs.

Moe also leaves behind his mother, Gloria Tripp; father, Melvin Tripp (Ann), Siblings, Shane Tripp, Kathy (Donald) Daniels, Dwayne (Veronica) Tripp, Michael Brown, Stacey Keech, Pam Tucker, and Porschia Tripp; Aunt Mabel Tripp and Aunt Patricia (Ron) Koch, Uncle Cecil (Velma) Peed; along with many uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
