Obituary
Ms. Mary Elizabeth Montgomery was born in Greensboro, NC to Isaiah & Elizabeth Curry on July 24, 1946 at L. Richardson Hospital. She was the second child of four children. God call his heavenly angel home on Wednesday, March 11, 2015.
Mary attended Washington Street Elementary School, Lincoln, and Dudley High School. Shortly after high school she worked as a security guard at Bennett College.
On July 16, 1977, she married William Montgomery in Greensboro, NC. To this union three children were born, Gladys, Keisha, and Derrick. She truly loved her family unconditionally. She enjoyed dancing, playing Bingo, and watching TV. Her favorite TV shows were Charmed and Bewitched.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaiah and Elizabeth Cheek Curry; and granddaughter, Roslyn Nicole.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories her children, Gladys Stewart, Keisha Montgomery, and Derrick Montgomery; stepchildren, Cassandra A. Turman (Reggie), William B. Montgomery (Laneka), and Mark A. Montgomery; sister, Wilma Bryant; nephews, Charlie Woods, Ronnie Woods, and William Woods; best friend, Frank Price; mentor/friend, Andrea Lockheart; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Homegoing celebration will be held Thursday, March 19, 2:00 pm at the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel, 905 East Market Street, Greensboro, NC.
