It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of our beloved brother, Marshall Antonio "Tony" Johnson, who's was a caring father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Tony was not only a brother but a best friend and confidant. He departed this life on Saturday, August 3, 2024.

He was the son of Curtis Bacote and Hattie Johnson, born on March 6, 1967. He was born in Jamaica Queens, NY and there he was educated and graduated from Malverne High School, Malverne, NY in 1985.  After graduating from high school, Tony chased his dreams of playing basketball at Stony Brook University.  He was employed at Pepsi, Co. working in the Sales Department.  Later in life he met the love of his life Mrs. Aurelia (Wilson) Johnson, who preceded him in death.

Tony loved spending time on the grill, cooking up a delicious steak for his family. He loved every moment with his dog Dallas, who never left his side.  He enjoyed weekends on the beach as often as he could get away to watch the waves.

Tony brought life to any room he stepped in; he never met a stranger; he could talk to anyone. He leaves a loving last impression in everyone's heart.  He enjoyed telling life stories, reminiscing over pictures and influencing the life of others.

The life and legacy of Marshall "Tony" Johnson, Sr. will be forever remembered and cherished by his son, Marshall "TJ" Johnson, Jr. (Shaquima) of Greensboro, NC, his parent, Curtis Bacote of Darlington, SC, sisters:  Michelle (Leroy, Jr.) Jackson of Locust Grove, GA,  and Nikki Lighty of Darlington, SC, brothers:  Maurice (Vonda) Green, Ornando Goins, Shawn (Pamela) Goins, Eric Bacote, all of Darlington, Calvin (Edna) Lewis of Lexington, NC, Chad (Shana) Dewitt of Colorado and Carnell Foskey, West Hempstead, NY and a host of other loving siblings,  granddaughter (he loved with all his heart) Melody Aurelia Johnson, partner, Ruthmarie Blair Mitchell of High Point, NC, and god-sister, Saundra Graham, nieces, nephews, a host of uncles and aunts, cousins, friends and co-workers.
