Mark Anthony Gilbert, Jr. was born May 6, 1981 in Greensboro, NC to Shelia Troxler and Mark Gilbert, Sr.  Mark transitioned into eternal life with the Lord March 10, 2022.

Mark was educated in Guilford County Schools and later obtained his GED. Throughout the years, he has held various employment.  He recently obtained his forklift license and had been working as a forklift driver.

Mark was a wonderful person with a big heart and would help anyone.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and his children.  He also enjoyed sports and cooking.  Mark at the prime age of 40 made his transition from earth on March 10, 2022.

Mark is preceded by stepfather, Melvin Troxler, Sr.; stepbrother, Melvin Troxler, Jr.; grandparents, Paul Floyd (Mary Ella), Doretta Moore, and Charles Gilbert, Sr.

He leaves to cherish precious memories: mother, Shelia Troxler; father, Mark Gilbert, Sr. (Jackie); three children, KaShayia Coltrane, Markquan Gilbert, and Jahques Gilbert; three siblings, Felicia Brown (Jaime), Jerome Gilbert, and Charles Gilbert; one stepbrother, Ryan Montgomery; one stepsister, Melanie Troxler; eight stepchildren, Shelly, Rodney, Craig, Joshua, ShaToyia, Chantel, and LaRico.  He fondly will be remembered as Papa to several grandchildren.  Mark holds a special place in the hearts of many others including a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, the mothers of his children, Latoya Coltrane and Mary Gilbert; and one special friend, Shallon Shaw.

A homegoing celebration will be held on Friday, March 18 in the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel.  Visitation with the family begins at 11:30 am, followed by the service at 12:00 pm.
