IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marian
Crumdy
April 28, 1946 – July 6, 2019
Marian Gailes Crumdy was born April 28, 1946 in Wake County to the late Bernie Gailes and Gertrude Gailes. She did not come into this world alone. She was accompanied by her twin sister, Marlyn Mallette, whom preceded her in death.
Marian graduated in 1946 from the "greatest school under the sun," Williston Senior High School in Wilmington, N.C. She continued her education at the illustrious North Carolina A&T State University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1968. Upon gradation she immediately went to work in the office of Dr. Girardeau Alexander as a nurse. This assignment jumped started a career span of 37 years. Marian spent her life caring for others. That was her passion; along with entertaining, and "talking junk" while playing cards.
She was a faithful member of Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church. She also enjoyed Senior Traveler's at Saint Paul Baptist Church.
She leaves behind two daughters Melvina D. Robinson and Joi L. Edwards, both of Greensboro, N.C. One brother Bernard Gailes (Ellen) of Bolivia, N.C. One aunt Ruth Robertson of Knightdale, N.C. Four Granddaugthers: Janay M. Robinson, Janise N. Robinson, Taylor M. Edwards, and Jalyn L. Edwards. One great grandson, Aadyn Allston, who affectionately called her "GG," and a nephew Johnathan Mallette. Marian also leaves behind a host of Sister-Friends, adopted children, nieces, nephews and friends.
A homegoing celebration will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at Trinity AME Zion, 631 E. Florida Street, Greensboro. Visitation with the family begins at 2:00 pm followed by the service at 2:30 pm.
