Margaret Ann Graham Owens was born August 29, 1939 in Greensboro, NC (Warnersville Community) to the late Johnnie Graham and Audrey Gallmon Graham. God call his heavenly angel home on Monday, March 9, 2015. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Hubert, Thomas, Melvin, and George, Sr.
Margaret was a member of Trinity A.M.E Zion Church where she served on various clubs and committees. She graduated from James B. Dudley High School in 1956 and furthered her education at Bennett College. She was employed with Western Electric/AT&T and retired after thirty years of dedicated service.
On June 25, 1960, she married her sweetheart Asa Owens, Sr. in Greensboro, NC. The couple was happily married for fifty-four years. To this union four boys were born, Asa, Jr., Erick, Ainsley, and Christopher. She truly loved her family unconditionally. She enjoyed traveling, entering contests, going to casinos, entertaining in her home, and cooking. She enjoyed playing pinochle so much that she was a charter member of the Pinochlettes of Greensboro.
Margaret was a faithful member of the Immaculate Chapter, OES #537 where she served as the past Worthy Matron. She was also a member of the Greensboro Assembly #106, Loyal Ladies of the Golden Circle and Khalif Court #90 where she served as the past Deputy of Oasis, Prince Hall Affiliated.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories her devoted husband, Asa, Sr; sons, Asa, Jr., Erick, Ainsley (Wylonda), and Christopher; sister, Nina Cates, all of the area; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and countless friends she established throughout the years.
