Mrs. Marcia Renee' Jones Long, widow of the late Fleming Durel Long, departed this earthly life on Friday, March 19, 2021 at her home in Whitsett, North Carolina.  Born in Fayetteville, North Carolina on December 20, 1964, she was the fourth of five children born to the late Beula Dancy Jones and Willie Lee Jones, Jr.

Marcia was educated in the public schools in North Carolina and later in Tuskegee, AL.  Upon graduation from high school, she went on to study at Troy University and Howard University. She was an alumna of Tuskegee University. Marcia met Fleming in the summer of 1983 while attending Howard University and they were united in marriage on November 26, 1988.

Marcia has blessed many with her love and kindness.  She was a warm, welcoming, and kind person with a positive outlook on life. Though quiet, she could put you at ease with her gentleness. That was her gift. In addition to her husband, parents and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her brother, Mikel "Chuck" Jones and sister, Gwendolyn "Cherry" Jones.

She leaves to cherish precious memories: her brothers, Rodney Jones and Willie Jones, III; her adopted sister & niece, Cheryl Jones; sister-in-laws, Sharon Long-Stokes, Stephanie Long, Vannicia Hooks-Jones; brother-in-law, T.O. Pella Stokes; nieces, Nicara Jones, Tiya' Jones, Sierra Long and Amir Long; nephews, Durel Long, Jajuan Jones, Kijuan Jones, Pella Stokes, Zavier Jones, Ellis Stokes and Torre Stokes; great nieces and nephews; her family away from home-The Gilchrists; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

A public viewing will be held at Hargett Funeral Service, Inc., 905 E. Market Street, Greensboro on Friday, March 26, 2021 from 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm.  The family will hold a private service on Saturday, March 27.
