Mrs. Loletta "Lo" Brunson, daughter of the late Mr. Finley White and Bertha Foust, was born June 15, 1932 in Alamance County. Loletta passed away on July 3, 2015 at the Beacon Place Hospice Home in Greensboro, NC.
Loletta attended Alamance County Public Schools. She graduated from Graham High School, Class of 1952. "Lo" joined New Mt. Zion Christian Church at an early age. She dedicated her life in the church service and became the church secretary. She had a love for singing which led to her joining the Red Star Gospel Singers which aired on the radio every Sunday morning.
Loletta married the love of her life Mr. Willie "Pete" Brunson on July 5, 1965. They were married for 41 years. "Lo" loved working to help her brothers and sisters. She retired after 20 plus years with Procter and Gamble in Greensboro, NC.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 6 siblings.
She leaves to mourn her, her step daughter, Scarlett B. Sherman of Charlottesville, VA; sisters-in-law, Lillian C. Brown of Bronx, NY and Rose Brunson of Winston Salem, NC; brothers-in-law, Sterling Thompson of Graham, NC and Theodore Albright of Haw River, NC; a special friend, Earl Troxler of Greensboro, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.
A homegoing celebration will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 at the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel, 905 East Market Street, Greensboro, NC at 1:00 pm. Visitation begins at 12:30 pm.
