Lofton Liggins, Jr. was born January 3rd, 1950 to the late Lofton Liggins, Sr. and Ruby Sharpe Liggins.

On May 12th, 1972 Lofton Liggins, Jr. married Evelyn Moore (Liggins) and they were married 49 years until his passing. Throughout these 49 years of marriage, Lofton was a stepfather and provider to four stepchildren, Latonya Sturdivant, Vincent Sturdivant (Marsha), Roderick Sturdivant, Sr. (Lela), and Dwayne "Eric" Sturdivant.

Lofton attended Guilford County Schools, and he graduated from James B. Dudley High School class of 1968. Lofton worked from 1971 until 2017 as an over the road truck driver, taking along his wife and grandchildren on trucking trips whenever he could. When he retired, he loved to bake cakes and cook for all his family and friends. One of the dishes he was most known for was his candied yams.

In 1996, the Rev. Lofton Liggins, Jr. and his wife founded "The Church of The Word of God in Christ Ministry" and they both continued to touch many souls through ministry until his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Ronnie Liggins.

Apart from being a loving husband and devoted minister, Lofton Liggins, Jr., who was also referred to as "June" "Uncle June" or "Granddad," was a loving brother, uncle, grandfather, cousin, and friend. He is survived by his siblings, Linda Liggins, Harriet Liggins Ross (Pete), Jacqueline Liggins Epps; devoted aunt, Doris Dean Canada; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Loftin "June" Liggins, Jr. will be remembered for his kind and sensitive nature, boisterous laughter, and his love and devotion to Christ.

Public viewing of Mr. Liggins is 12 noon to 5:00 pm Tuesday the 26th in Hargett Funeral Service 905 East Market Street Greensboro, NC.  The graveside service is Wednesday October 27, 2021 in Forest Lawn Cemetery 3901 Forest Lawn Drive Greensboro, NC at 1:00 pm. Live streaming will be available.
