Leslie H.
Jacks
August 16, 1946 – April 20, 2026
Leslie Henry Jacks was born on August 16, 1946, in Coatesville, PA, to Henry Jacks and the late Pearl M. Jacks. He was one of three children born from this union, and from the very beginning, his life was marked by strength, faith, and deep devotion to those he loved.
On April 20, 2026, God gently called Les home, freeing him from the pain he endured quietly and with remarkable grace. Though he suffered in silence, he never allowed hardship to dim the light of his spirit.
Les was a man of unwavering faith, commitment, and loyalty. To many young men in Coatesville, he was far more than a familiar face—he was a father figure, a mentor, and a steady source of guidance. His dedication to his family, his church, and to God shaped every part of his life. In 1987, he gave his life to Christ under the leadership of Apostle Bobby Duncan, a decision that anchored him for the rest of his days. Upon relocating to Greensboro, North Carolina he was Ordained as a Deacon by his pastor, Bishop Jesse Britt of Follow Christ Fellowship Church and also a tenor singer for a Quartet Group "The Sons of Zion".
Known for his extraordinary work ethic and impeccable character, Les showed up for his family and friends no matter the circumstances. His reliability, kindness, and quiet strength made him a pillar in the lives of all who depended on him.
Les was also an exceptional athlete. His talent in the high jump earned him national recognition, ranking 6th in the nation at the National Championships in 1965, an achievement that remained a point of pride throughout his life.
He had a lifelong love for cars and was always the first in Coatesville to have the newest and most impressive vehicles. Les proudly “claimed” the family’s ’65 Chevy Impala “4 on the floor,” cruised in his 1969 Pontiac convertible GTO, and cherished his pride and joy—the 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS.
Above all, Les loved his family deeply. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him immeasurable joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
He leaves to honor and celebrate his memory: his beloved wife, Paulette Jacks of NC; his son, Leslie Sean Trammell-Jacks of Denver, CO; his father, Henry Jacks (Carol) of Coatesville; his sisters, Joyce Townsend (James) of Upper Marlboro, MD, and Dawn Barbour ("JayR") of Upper Marlboro, MD; brothers-in-law Roscoe Brown (Arlene) of FL, Donald Trammell (Barbara) of Coatesville, Louis Trammell (Lisa) of Coatesville, and James Townsend of MD; eleven grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished “brothers” Arnold “Jake” Hammond and John “Butch” Winters.
Les was preceded in death by his loving mother, Pearl M. Jacks; his daughter, Danielle “Muddie” Bailey; his brother Marvin Trammell (JoAnn), and his dear friend, Earl Miller.
Les lived a life of purpose, faith, and love. His legacy will continue to shine through the many lives he touched, the family he adored, and the community he uplifted.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM until 12:45PM at Greater Deliverance Church, 800 South First Avenue, Coatesville, PA, with Funeral Services commencing at 1:00 PM at which time it will be Livestreamed on the Facebook Page of the Emmett Golden Hunt Memorial Chapel.
