Jonathan Martin Riddick was born on October 22, 1987, in Washington, DC, to Johnny and Monique Riddick. Throughout his early years, Jonathan participated in Boy Scouts, and he became a member of the Chess Club in junior high. In high school, Jonathan's love for drumming blossomed when he started drum lessons and joined the drumline of his high school's marching band. Jonathan's talent for drumming developed, and he became captain of the drumline his senior year in high school. His love for working with computers and technology also blossomed in high school, as he was the computer assistant to the computer director.
After graduating from high school in 2005, Jonathan attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (A&T). At A&T, Jonathan became a member, and eventually captain, of the Robotics Team. He also performed as a drummer in various churches and gospel bands in his spare time.
Jonathan loved his time at A&T. He graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Technology. About two weeks after graduation, A&T offered Jonathan a position as a Computer Technician. Jonathan received a promotion to the position of System Analyst in the School of Technology, where he worked up until his untimely death.
Jonathan loved life in Greensboro, and especially loved his job, but Jonathan had a true passion for drumming. Jonathan's family and friends will remember him as a talented drummer, with a brilliant mind, and a beautiful heart.
Jonathan's Celebration of life will be on Sunday, September 27, 2015, at House of Deliverance Ministries, located at 3008 E. Bessemer Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405.
