Obituary
Mr. Johnathon La'Mont Young (J.J.), 40, son of Herbert Young, Sr. and Doris Young was born on October 9, 1974 in High Point, NC. God loved him more and called Johnathon to rest on Saturday, July 18, 2015.
Johnathon graduated from Southern Guilford High School in 1992 and attended Pyramid Institute of Barbering in Winston-Salem in 1999. He attended Pearson Memorial AME Church in his earlier years. Johnathon was employed by DHL in Greensboro, NC at the time of his death. He joined Gabriel Lodge #115 in Greensboro, NC in 2010.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Chiyanna Shantice Young of Greensboro, NC; parents, Herbert, Sr. & Doris Young of High Point, NC; brothers, Donald Young (Angela) of Charlotte, NC, Tony Young (Renee) of Jamestown, NC, and Herbert Young, Jr. of Edgewood, Maryland; sisters, Deborah Young, Harriette Young-Thomas and Janet Williams (Nathaniel) all of High Point, NC; mother-in-law, Edna Watson of Middlesex, NC; father-in-law, Bennie Watson (Emma) of Selma, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
A homegoing celebration will be held on July 22, 2015 at Pearson Memorial AME Church, 805 E. Washington St., High Point, NC. Visitation begins at 12:00 pm followed by the service at 12:30 pm.
Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens.
