John Paul Marion, Jr. died at Moses Cone Hospital on Thursday, December 03, 2020 in Greensboro, NC. He was 58. John was born on August 16, 1962 in Greensboro, NC.

He graduated from Ben L. Smith High School in 1980. He attended Brevard Community College and Mars Hill Community College from 1980-1983, and then graduated from Greensboro College with a degree in Physical Education in 1986.

John married Barbara Elaine Marion in 1988. He was beloved by his family, neighbors, and friends. He devoted himself to church at Calvary Christian Center. John was known for caring and helping others in need. For twenty-four years, he worked as a Meat Processor Supervisor at Southern Foods until he fell ill, but he never allowed himself to be a victim of his circumstance. After leaving Southern Foods, he dedicated his time to helping and caring for others, as well as gardening and sharing the harvest with family, neighbors, and friends.

John is preceded in death by his parents, John Paul Marion, Sr. and Ila Lee Marion, respectively.

John is survived by his wife, Barbara Elaine Marion; two sons, Johnathon Marion and Jon-Eric Marion; stepson, Brandon Gregory; five siblings, Bertha Ellis (Melvin), Brenda Phifer (Edward), Deborah Maness (Anthony), Mary Ealey (Clarence) and Tonya Denise Marion all of Greensboro.
