Joan Harris was born August 9, 1940 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania to the late Mr. Elmer Eubanks and Mrs. Dovie Anna Eubanks. Joan transitioned from this life on Tuesday, December 1, 2015.

Joan graduated from Camden High School in 1958. On March 22, 1975, she married her "Poopsie" Mr. Frank T. Harris. From this union one child was born, Mr. Frank Harris, III.

Joan was a dedicated wife for 40 years. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved decorating, shopping, sewing, spending time with her granddaughter, and talking to her sister June daily when not visiting her in New York. Joan will be remembered for her caring and giving nature. In addition to being a wife, mother, and grandmother, Joan shared a special bond and relationship with her baby sister June. As Joan would say, they were "two peas in a pod" and best friends. Joan had been like a second mother to her sister until the very end.

Joan was preceded in death by her father, Elmer; mother, Dovie Anna; sister, Joyce Robinson; and niece, Tracey Meredith.

Joan leaves to cherish and treasure her memories her husband, Frank T. Harris, II; son, Frank Harris, III (Artisha); granddaughter, Ariana Harris; sister, June Eubanks; niece, Deborah Redman; great nieces, Tonia and Tiffany Meredith; great-great nieces, Ahzaria, Deborah, and Halle; great-great nephew, Ivan; and a host of other family members and friends.

A homegoing celebration will be held on Monday, December 7, 2015 at the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel, 905 E. Market St, Greensboro, NC. Visitation with the family begins at 11:30 am followed by the service at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
