Jeffery E. Shamberger was born April 24, 1953 in Fort Bragg North Carolina. His transition to eternal rest occurred on January 17, 2018.

After graduating from Ben L.Smith High School, Jeffery joined the United States Air Force and worked as a fireman. After serving for four years, he returned to Greensboro and started working for Kimber Guard & Patrol Inc. for a number of years, before joining the City of Greensboro Police Reserves, where he served on the force for two years. Soon afterwards, he started operating the family business and later decided to opened his own business, Jeff's Transportation until his illness in 2015.

Jeffery attended Trinity A. M. E. Zion Church and was active in the community where he sponsored and coached numerous children and adult baseball and softball teams. He will be remembered by many.

He was preceded in death by his father Elmer E. Shamberger.

To cherish his precious memory, he leaves his mother, Katie M. Shamberger; sisters, Teresa S. Douglas (Andre) and Angela S. Milliken (Jasen); children, Toran Shamberger, Nicholas Thacker, and Kaitlyn Johnson; stepchildren, Latonya Jordan and Shenika Shamberger; grandchildren, Hydeia Mims and Nakiyah Thacker; nephews, Andre Douglas, Kyle Douglas, Ivan Milliken; and a host of uncles, aunts, other relatives, and friends are left to mourn his loss.

A homegoing celebration will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Trinity AME Zion Church, 631 E. Florida Street, Greensboro. Visitation with the family begins at 12 followed by the service at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
