Ida Lucille Isley Cheek, 71, was born to the late William and Octola Isley in Alamance County, NC. Ida, affectionately known as "Lucille," attended Greensboro Public Schools. She worked many years for the Guilford County School System and for the State of NC as a caregiver.
Her loving and compassionate spirit allowed her to touch many hearts and lives in a very special way. Lucille also known for her AWESOME homemade biscuits and pies will truly be missed by many especially her family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Shirley, Geraldine and Linda; two brothers, William and Charles; two children, Beverly and Theresa; one grandchild, Sherman; a great niece, Shannon; and two special cousins very dear to her heart, Sammy and Harvey.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 40 years James; 1 daughter, Tina (Zeno); 3 sons, Anthony, Franklin and Lamont (Cynthia); 3 sisters, Carolyn, Jackie and Deborah (Ronald); 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A homegoing celebration will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church, 1515 Britton Street, Greensboro. Visitation with the family starts at 12:00 pm followed by the service at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
