Ms. Helen E. Cumbo, 88, of Greensboro, NC died on Sunday, September 20, 2020.

Ms. Cumbo was born May 6, 1932 to the parents of John Earl and Helen Cumbo.  At the age of 3 years old, her mother died and her grandmother Mrs. Lillie Dick raised her.  Helen attended Sedelia High School and was a graduate of Bennett College.  She went on to earn a master's degree In Education.  Helen taught school form 1957 - 1987 without missing a year.  She taught public school In North Carolina, Connecticut, Florida, and New Jersey.  After retirement, in 2013 she published a book, "A Story For All Women!"

Helen leaves to mourn two daughters, Antoniea M. Duncan (Fred) and Tonya D. Jernberg (Kenneth); seven grandchildren, Alexis T. Jones, Semone M. Duncan, Autum F. Duncan, Quentin Jones (Calandra) Robert Deniz (Stephanie), Ryan Deniz (Jennifer), and Angelica Gruder (Matthew); eight great grandchildren, Ellyson Deniz, Emery Deniz, Brooklyn Deniz, Alexia Glass, Devin Lewis, Ayden Jones, Dylan Jones, and Azara V. Jones; and a host of other family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Wadsworth Congregational Church Cemetery, 1301 Rock Creek Diary Road, Whitsett,  at 2:00 pm.  Interment will follow at Wadsworth Congregational Church Cemetery.
