Obituary
Mr. H.B. Hughes, 83, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Maple Grove Health & Rehab. Center in Greensboro, NC.
H.B. was born December 11, 1931 in Chester County, SC to the late Columbus and Hattie Hughes. He retired from Lorillard after working there for 36 years. He loved people and always enjoyed carrying on a conversation with those he meet.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sylvia Hughes; brothers, William, Lewis, Columbus, Pete, and Jesse, Claude Ed. Hughes; and sister, Katherine Pendergrass.
He is survived by his wife, Alberta Florence Hughes; son, Michael Hughes (Denise); sister, Hattie Glover (Ronald); brother, John Hughes (Annie Bell); 6 grand children, and 8 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 8, 2015 at St. Thomas Chapel Holiness Church, 633 NC Hwy, 150 West, Greensboro, NC. The family will receive friends half an hour prior to the service.
