GREENSBORO - Hattie Hall Herbin passed away February 18, 2012 at the age of 85.
Hattie was born June 10, 1926, in Winnsboro, SC to the late Ruff and Mamie Hall. She graduated from James B. Dudley High School and attended NC A&T in Greensboro, NC. She was married to Rubin Herbin for 66 years, and to this union they had three children. She was preceded in death by their son Reuben Jr.
Hattie was a devoted member of New Goshen United Methodist Church. She was very active in the Usher Board, Communion Steward, and the United Methodist Women of the church. She was also a community volunteer with Meals on Wheels.
She retired from Proctor Gamble, (formerly Vicks Mfg.) in Greensboro, NC.
The Herbin family will greet friends and family on February 23, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at New Goshen United Methodist Church. A service to celebrate her life will follow at 12:00 p.m. at New Goshen United Methodist Church 3300 Randleman Road, Greensboro, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Goshen United Methodist Women of New Goshen United Methodist Church 3300 Randleman Road Greensboro, NC 27406.
She is survived by her husband, Rubin of the home, two daughters Forestine Starkes of Greensboro, NC, Carol (Mike) Lilly of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren Marla Lambert of Greensboro, NC, Tonya (Stan), Brandon of Charlotte, NC, and Scott (Shari) Lilly of Charlotte, NC; three great grandchildren, Jessica and Keara of Greensboro, NC and Hayden of Charlotte, NC; one great-great grandson Blake of Greensboro, NC; two brothers Roosevelt (Mattie) of Greensboro, NC and Paul (Mattie) Hall of Merry Hill, NC; two sister-in-laws Ruby Hall and Lettie Hall of Greensboro, NC; one aunt Marie Robinson of Blair SC; nieces and nephews; and a very special friend and caregiver Luvenia Kimber.
