Obituary

Geraldine Daniel White was born on January 18, 1934 in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina to the late James and Eva Mae Richardson Daniel. After graduating from John Armstrong Chaloner High School she migrated to Washington D.C. where she married the late Johnnie White. They had their first child and migrated to Harlem, New York for several years and then to Brooklyn where she gave birth to two more children.


She was employed at New York Telephone Company for twenty five years. She retired in 1989 as a Maintenance Administrator. She then relocated to High Point, NC where she worked for The International Home Furnishings Center with the High Point Furniture Market as the first black receptionist, NorthState Telephone Company, High Point Park and Rec, and ten years at The Family Service of the Piedmont. She was a strong woman of faith and became a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York and Williams Memorial AME Church in High Point NC. Geraldine was a people person and was well loved and embraced by everyone. She was well loved and kept in touch with all her childhood friends.
She was a giver in this life and a devoted mother to her three children. She supported them with all their endeavors. She was blessed to realize all her aspirations and goals.

Left to cherish her memories are her three children, Melody White, Andre White, and La-Faithia White, daughter in law, Georgia White; four grandchildren, Durand Fulton Jr (DJ), Nakia Fulton, Sybria and Dana White; one great granddaughter, Amarelis Romero; two sisters, Dorothy Daniel Hite and Nora Daniel Wheelous; one brother in law, Bishop Richard Wheelous; five nieces, Bridgett Mosley, Tameka Nowlin, Darlean, Corina and Gloria Battle; five nephews, Michael Daniel, Oliver Battle, Travis Hite, Keith and Cary Wheelous; six great nieces, and one great nephew and a host of cousins and friends. She will be truly missed by all.
