Georgia Lee Henry Hughes was born on December 9, 1932, in Terra Cotta Greensboro, NC, to the late George and Hannah Pressley Henry. She departed this life on August 22, 2023, at Moses Cone Hospital.

Georgia attended the Terra Cotta School and JC Price School. Georgia worked all her life. Her longest endeavors of employment were with Western Electric and Gilbarco where she retired from Gilbarco after serving for 35 years. She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church at an early age, and later became a member of Collins Grove United Methodist Church where she served there for 39 years. She served on the Usher Board and was a member of St Luke Chapter Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her mother, and Father, her daughter, Dannette Jackson, and two sisters.

Georgia leaves to cherish her memories to her devoted Goddaughter, Pastor Arlisa Reaves Greene & Godson Bishop W Leroy Greene of Henderson, NC; (2) sisters, Ruby Manuel and Lucille Miller both of Greensboro, NC; one grandson, George David Henry, and two great-grandchildren Lykenzie and Tidley all of Greensboro, NC and a host of nieces, nephews' relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 27 in the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel, 905 E. Market Street, Greensboro at 2:00 pm.
