Francis Reid, age 71, passed away on September 16, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a family who loved him dearly.

Francis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, veteran, and friend. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, a distinction that remained an important part of his life. Following his military service, Francis built a career with the United States Postal Service, where he worked faithfully for many years.

Family was an important part of Francis’s life. Francis was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Maxine Reid, and siblings Robert Reid, and Karlene Prince. He leaves behind his loving wife, devoted caregiver and friend, Patricia Reid; his children, Evan Reid, Tia Reid, and Galen Reid (Kristina); and his four grandchildren, Jerry Grady, Anastasia Grady, Ava Reid and Miller Reid. He is also survived by siblings, Hildagene Reid, Denise Griffin, Cynthia Reid, and Wesley Reid (Lorrie) along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends who will remember him with love.

Francis was an avid sports fan who enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams. He was a loyal Chicago Bears fan and an enthusiastic Atlanta Braves baseball fan. Whether watching a game or talking sports with family and friends, his passion for his teams was unmistakable. He will be remembered for the life he lived, the family he loved, the friendships he formed, and his service to his country. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories shared with him will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Family and friends will gather on October 17th from 2pm to 4pm at 4347 Clovelly Drive, Greensboro NC 27406, to remember and celebrate Francis’ life.
