GREENSBORO - Mrs. Frances Pauline Lucas Enzlow was born in Guilford County, NC June 15, 1919. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Benjamin H. Lucas and Florance Chipman Lucas. She exchanged her earthly life for eternal life Sunday morning, May 29, 2011.
Frances was a long time member of Bethel AME Church, Greensboro. She was a retired teacher with the Guilford County School System. She was also a member of the Beta Nu Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be remembered as a mother, teacher and friend to many.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Comey M. Enzlow, sons Benjamin Harold Enzlow and Rev. Michael Lucas Enzlow, Sr, and grandchildren Marcellus (Mark) Jeffers and Tonya Enzlow White.
Those left to cherish her memory are: daughter, Modgie Carol Enzlow Williams; grandchildren, Pamela E. Carr, Deidra E. (Randy) Graves, Benjamin O. White, III, Gwendolyn D. Enzlow, Pauline J. Johnson (William "BJ"), Cleon R. Shamburger and Michael L. Enzlow, Jr.; ten great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Guinevere W. Enzlow; sister-in-law, Mary Louise Lucas; nieces, Hattie Enzlow and Frances E. Witcher (Rev. Russell Witcher); nephew, Willie Franklin Douglas; special niece, Carolyn B. McNeil; special nephew, Marcel Bowden; special friends, Johnnie Davis Faucette, Joan M. Johnson, Effie Matthews and Glenda Curry.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service, 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM. Her Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:30 PM at Bethel AME Church, 200 Regan Street, Greensboro on Thursday, June 2, 2011.
