Evon Watford Moffitt, 70, went home peacefully to God on Thursday, December 14, 2017. A celebration of her life for family and friends will be Friday, December 22, 2017 at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Family visitation begins 11 a.m. with the service at 12 noon. Interment will follow at the church.

A devoted and beloved educator, Moffitt retired from Guilford County Schools after 30 years of service. She is preceded in death by her soulmate of 45 years, Richard, her parents, James and Mary Watford, and a brother, Kermit.

Evon leaves to cherish her sister, Bettie Jean Peele (Claude), her three children: Kimberly Moffitt Garrison (Noah) of Baltimore, MD; Ritchie (Betina) and Adonica of Greensboro; six grandchildren, four sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends
