Esther was born on March 30, 1946 in Greensboro, North Carolina, to the late Clara Etta Turner and Forest Shoffner.

A graduate of Dudley High School class of 1964, she was an avid reader and retired from the City of Greensboro in 2000.  She liked to draw in addition she made her nieces personalized birthday cards every year.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Pennix, Sr.

She leaves to cherish precious memories her pride and joy, William Edward Pennix, Jr. and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 in the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel, 905 E. Market Street, Greensboro at 1:00 pm.
