Eliza Searcy Russom Dick was born on April 22, 1910 and called home to the Lord peacefully in her daughter's home on August 17, 2015 at the age of 105.

Eliza was the daughter of Cody and Lennie Searcy. She was educated in the Guilford County School system. She accepted Christ at a young age and was a lifelong member of St. James AME Church. Eliza was employed by Dr. Richard H. Whitaker & wife Marty Whitaker of Kernersville, NC until declining in her health. She was a very caring woman that loved cats, growing flowers, and sewing.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Frank Russom and Frank Dick; daughter, Dilsie Wadelington and son, Curtis Russom; Sisters, Pearl Watkins, Cora Lee Johnson and Mirah Pass, Marie Conner; Brothers, Lyllen Searcy, Cody Searcy and Robert Dillworth.

Eliza leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Mary Ellen Goldston; sister Helen Bernice Hooker; daughter-in-law, Virginia Russom; extended family, Jenny Lowe, Lennie Searcy, Lois Griffin, Richard (Becky) Whitaker and David Whitaker; God daughter, Corrie Headen. Mama Liza had 9 Grandchildren; 21 Great Grandchildren; 34 Great Great Grands and 1 Great Great Great grand; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015, at the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel, 905 East Market Street, Greensboro. Visitation begins at 12:30 pm followed by a service at 1:00 pm.

Interment will follow at St. James Church Cemetery.
