Obituary

Dwight Miller was born to the late Naomi K. Miller Burris and Samuel Miller, III in Greensboro, NC on February 2, 1954. He was the 5th of 10 children. On June 18, 2015 at 3:25 pm, Angela Lopez (his niece), the Chaplin, and the doctors prayed with Dwight at his bedside, at this time he accepted Christ as his savior. Shortly thereafter, he went home to be with the Lord.

Dwight was educated in the Greensboro Public School System. He was a hard worker and did the best at every job he was assigned to. In the early 1970's he removed asbestos all over the Triad. He also worked at Cone Mills and G.H. Griffin until 2003 until his health began to decline. His niece cared for him for almost a year before he decided to go back to work as a laborer.

He was preceeded in death by his mother, Naomi Kithcart Miller Burris; father, Samuel Miller, III; stepfather, Alonzo Burris; sister, Benita A. Miller, Barbara Jean Sanders, and Brenda Faye Anderson; and brother, Samuel Miller, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his sisters, Ruthie Mae Miller Brown, Renita Y. Miller, Deborah Miller-Kane (MaKane) and Vanessa Miller Harris; brother, Reginald J. Miller; a special, devoted, loving niece who was at his bedside until the end, Angela Lopez (Jose'); great nephew, Jose' "Jay" Lopez, Jr.; aunts, Elizabeth Mobley and Sue; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

A homegoing celebration will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015. Visitation begins at 11:30 am followed by a service at 12:00 pm at the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel, 905 East Market Street.
