Doris Mae Powell Murphy was born to the late John and Letha Powell on April 20, 1919 in Gibsonville, NC and was called to her eternal home on January 15, 2015. Doris was a resident of McLeansville, NC for many years, where she and her late husband, William J. Murphy reared ten children, seven boys and three girls. Doris Mae was very active in her church, McLeansville First Baptist and in her community. Doris Mae was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Jacob Murphy; sisters, Myna Ruth Powell and Lucille Walden; brothers, Matthew, William, and John Powell; and a granddaughter, Ashley Murphy. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, John (Brenda), Danny (Valorie), Stan, Ray (Peaches), Howard (Ann), Ron, Andre, and her daughters, Helen (Vince), Dara, Sharon (Earl), and sweet "Margaret Jean". She also leaves sixteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren.
