Dolores Geraldine Ricks, age 61, moved on to glory June 30, 2026 in Greensboro, NC. She was born on November 3, 1964 to the late Clarence and Dolores Ricks in Glen Ridge, NJ. She was the youngest of four siblings.

During her school years Dolores loved to compete in several different kinds of sports. Some of those include track, cheerleading, and softball. She graduated from East Orange High School in 1982. A few years later Dolores started her career at Verizon. She worked as a phone operator for 30 years until her retirement in 2018. If Dolores was passionate about anything, it was definitely her family and helping others.

On March 1, 2009 Dolores was baptized at New Zion Baptist Church in Elizabeth, NJ. While there Dolores joined the Nurse's Ministry alongside her daughter. Together they provided compassionate care and physical assistance to the congregation and clergy during worship services.

Dolores leaves behind to cherish her memory: her daughter, Mrs. Qituwra Osby (husband Denis); her grandchild, Mia Osby; her sister, Mrs. Joyce Mishoe (husband Gary); two nieces, Mrs. Rashunda Jules (husband Dale Sr.), Mrs. Lael Carter (husband Leroy); her nephew, Ryan Ricks (wife Leticia); her pet dog, Sheba Ricks and many other friends and relatives.

A homegoing celebration will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026 in The Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel, 905 E. Market Street, Greensboro; visitation with the family begins at 10:00 am followed by the service at 10:30 am.
