Obituary
Derek was born April 21, 1975 to Linda C Hart. He attended the Guilford County School System.
He joined Guiding Light Ministries Baptist Church and received water baptism. He sang in the praise team and assisted in the building fund projects.
He worked in Food Service and loved his profession. He was employed by Ovations Food Service as a Hospitality Associate at Wake Forest University and Bartender at Cone Denim Entertainment Center until his death.
He loved working the Wyndham Golf Tournament as a volunteer. He loved cooking and singing. Derek never met a stranger. His infectious smile would light up a room.
He is survived by his devoted mother, Linda C Hart, 2 sisters, Crystal Spinks and Trudi Parson; 3 brothers, Kevin Green, Keith Green and Tre Spinks; godparents, Uncle Henry and Aunt Angie Johnson from Milford, Connecticut; aunts, Arneta Hart Wicker( Bennie) of Durham, NC; Sandra Hart Void ( Elder Landy) of Pittsboro, NC and Shirley Hart of Pittsboro, NC and host of cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel, 905 E. Market Street, Greensboro. Visitation with the family begins at 3:00 pm followed by the service at 3:30 pm.
