Delores Elizabeth McLean, also affectionately known as "Poobie" or Mrs. D., was born on April 2, 1946, in Richmond, VA to Ezekiel Mickle and Elizabeth Colson. She departed this life on April 20th, 2022.

After her family relocated to Greensboro, NC, Delores met Jerry McLean and they were married 32 years. For many years she worked for United Child Development, teaching Pre-K aged children, and specializing in infant care. Upon retirement, Delores worked privately for Mr. & Mrs. Jack Levins, caring for their children and grandchildren. Delores was a devoted mother, grandmother, caretaker, and friend. She will be remembered by her unwavering love for her family, her infectious smile, and the solid wisdom she shared with many through the life stories she would share. Her
passions included cooking and eating delicious food, listening to music (Michael Jackson being her favorite musician), and she thoroughly enjoyed watching sports.

To cherish her memory are her daughter, Regina Colson; sons, Rodney (Toni) and Kevin; four grandchildren, Steffani, Brandi, Kevin Jr., and Kaya; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Mickle.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 in the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel, 905 E. Market Street, Greensboro at 1:00 pm
